Leading SME Trade Bank 2017, awarded by Asian Development Bank (ADB)

Singapore September 2017, Asian Development Bank (ADB) has officially announced to award “Leading SME Trade Bank” prize to Vietnam International Bank (VIB). The prestigious award aims to honor banks who have outstanding achievements when participating in the Trade Finance Program (TFP).
ADB's Trade Finance Program (TFP) fills market gaps for trade finance by providing guarantees and loans to banks to support trade. Since 2009, ADB’s TFP has supported more than 10,900 small and medium-sized businesses across developing Asia — through over 16,000 transactions valued at over USD28.5 billion. VIB, which joined TFP in 2009, is one of the ten Vietnamese issuing banks currently in the program that have been selected by ADB to finance import-export enterprises, and to improve their productivity and competitiveness in the market. The award is given based on the number of transactions performed under TFP.
The awards recognise the TFP’s most active partner banks as measured by the number of transactions conducted between 1 July 2016 and 30 June 2017.As a leading bank in trade finance for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), VIB is the first bank in Vietnam to win this award & the 2nd.
